A pregnancy so perfect Nine month of pure delight, My first child to love and care for A future oh so bright. The birth was so amazing A beautiful daughter to behold, Little did I know then What true anguish would unfold. The tests, the doctors, the tension Something no mother should endure, The seizures so unrelenting Surely there must be a cure. No answers to give me focus A future now on hold, Day by day survival How could doctors be so cold? But I held her and loved her with passion She grew and thrived so well, A spirit alive from within her But physically, unable to tell. She is loved by all that know her A soul with true heart from within, My special child was sent here with purpose A gift, with a beautiful grin.
